Win an Alvar Aalto Savoy Vase

The asymmetrical Savoy Vase, named for the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki, is an iconic C20th accessory. Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 as part of the furnishings for the restaurant, it was shown at the Paris World's Fair a year later and became a symbol of modern Finnish design. Inspiration for the undulating and organic form has been variously attributed to puddles, waves, cross sections of tree trunks and the lakes of the Finnish landscape. The vase is still produced by Finnish firm Iittala, in dozens of colors and sizes.
Lushpad, the mid-century modern furniture marketplace, is giving visitors until the end of this month to enter a draw to win a Savoy vase of their own. Good Luck!

This is one of those things that I've always wanted but for some reason never got around to buying. I wonder why that is . . . Also, I'm letting my blog buddies know that I've moved (not me but my blog). TTFN
