After my $500 deductible, my ins. co. only had to pay out about $400.

The next year they TRIPLED my rate. That's when I learned to "self-insure". Take the highest deductible you can and only file a claim if you have a major loss. We have gotten used to using insurance as a service rather than a safety net and I think we need to shake that.SmilingJudyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05877138249330155883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8249013.post-59670530788685144282008-06-12T08:59:00.000-04:002008-06-12T08:59:00.000-04:00Of course if you default on a payment they can sto...Of course if you default on a payment they can stop insuring you. And you are legally bound to be insured if you have a mortgage.
I'm sure adding this to the fuel and food price hikes will cause the housing market to crunch even further.
My slogan suggestion for insurance companies was: “Insurance: If you can get it - you don’t need it.”
The Allstate specific one: If you have it, you can't afford it".modernemamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00837091713842104507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8249013.post-63182275448886902892008-06-12T02:29:00.000-04:002008-06-12T02:29:00.000-04:00All I can say is ouch; insurance companies suck. All I can say is ouch; insurance companies suck.Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17374925727669703513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8249013.post-15285396604728381572008-06-11T23:26:00.000-04:002008-06-11T23:26:00.000-04:00Oh good God - I have them too! I was driving in our little Toyota and could feel the air pressure sort of lifting the car...it was very "something wicked this way comes"...Jean Marthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08729909498648719841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8249013.post-90539199433241121732008-06-11T19:47:00.000-04:002008-06-11T19:47:00.000-04:00That stinks..
